MERIDIAN, ID — Potato Days 2025 is teaming up with Catalyst Arts Collaborative to host the PD25 Chalk Art Competition, transforming Kleiner Memorial Park into one of the largest chalk art installations in Idaho.

The competition kicks off on Friday, September 19, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with participant check-in beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the statue in front of the park’s pond. Each artist will be given a contestant number and escorted to their designated space.

For just $7.89 per entry, community members can register to showcase their creativity. All artwork must feature a potato, be family-friendly, and be removable with water. Participants will have two hours to complete their masterpieces, bringing their own supplies to the event.

Winners will be announced on Sunday, September 21 at 4:00 p.m. on the festival’s main stage, with prizes awarded and recognition given to top artists. Updates on the jury process and prizes will be shared on the festival’s social media pages.

“Sharing your art with the community during Potato Days is an act of kindness,” said organizers, emphasizing the collaborative spirit behind the competition.

Registration is open now, and spaces are expected to fill quickly. Whether you’re an artist, a fan of potatoes, or simply someone who loves vibrant community art, the PD25 Chalk Art Competition promises to be a highlight of this year’s festival.
